The voice belongs to Robin, who fronts the band on vocals and guitar, with Casey on guitar, Blair on bass and Lauren on drums, who sings lead on a few songs herself. In one set Robin can go from Etta James to Nirvana, and the rest of the band play both just as well.
Having both in the same set means nobody in the room waits long for their song. Nothing runs off a fixed order, so they watch the floor and move between Motown, Stevie Wonder, Arctic Monkeys, Taylor Swift and the Scottish anthems depending on who is up, and they will happily play a request on the night if they know it, which is what keeps the floor full. Couples write about guests dancing from the first song to the last, sore feet the next morning, and people coming over to ask where they found the band. One couple summed it up: "we basically had our own private concert".

When my wife and I were searching for a band for our wedding day, we knew we wanted something that stood out from the typical cabaret or cruise-ship-style wedding band. The second we came across The Socials, we knew they were exactly what we had been looking for. That energy isn’t just something they switch on when they start performing either. As a group, they have such a lovely chemistry and you can genuinely sense how well they all get on and how much they enjoy what they do together. One of our favourite little moments happened before they’d even played a note. When we were shown into the reception room for the evening, the band were still setting up and my wife was so excited to finally see them that she immediately ran over and gave them all a hug! They couldn’t have responded more warmly. They completely matched our excitement and instantly made us feel like the evening was about to properly begin. It was such a small interaction, but one that really summed up the warmth and personality they brought to our wedding. And somehow, they were even better in person. Almost every single guest spoke to us about how incredible the band were, either on the night itself or in the days afterwards as we all reminisced about just how amazing the wedding had been. The dance floor felt full the entire evening, and every time they started another song, the energy in the room lifted all over again. It genuinely felt like they were playing banger after banger. There was barely a chance to leave the dance floor because you didn’t want to miss what they were going to play next. But what really sets The Socials apart is that they’re the kind of band who could take almost any song and somehow make it sound incredible. It wasn’t just the song choices that made the night; it was the way they performed them. They put their own energy and personality into every track, and everything sounded effortlessly cool. We gave them a few specific song requests that were particularly special to us, and they absolutely nailed every single one. We also opted to have a ceilidh as part of the evening, and it ended up being one of the absolute highlights of the entire wedding. Seeing everyone get involved, laughing and dancing together, was so much fun and brought another incredible burst of energy to the night. It’s one of the parts of the wedding we’re most excited to watch back and relive. At times, it genuinely felt like we had our own private concert happening in the middle of our wedding, with all of our favourite people there enjoying it with us. Seeing a dance floor full of the people we love, singing and dancing together, is one of those memories from the day that we’ll never forget. The Socials were absolutely brilliant at our wedding! We really wanted an alternative style of music and they completely nailed it. They were so easy to deal with and couldn’t have been more helpful on the day, even sorting all their own setup and equipment so we didn’t have to worry about anything. They did a ceilidh for us too, which was great fun, and somehow even managed to get my mum to release her inner Mick Jagger 😂 The dance floor was packed and we had so many guests asking who they were and saying how good they were. Honestly, I’m not just saying it because they played at our wedding, they were genuinely the best wedding band we’ve heard! They completely blew the roof off and made the night.
